After all, there's always a reason to thank our parents - whether for the countless times they fixed our scraped knees during our childhood, the patience they put up with as we struggled through puberty, or the advice they still have in response to all kinds of problems. They've given us countless invaluable lessons about life, work, relationships, ourselves, and more. With such tough jobs, it's a wonder they have time for anything else.

I was recently in the oldest national park in southeastern Europe, the Plitvice Lakes.
