Leipzig has so many beautiful spots to offer! Of course, the city center is wonderful to stroll around but you can also discover many other parts of the city full of cool bars and cafés as well as many great parks. The mixture of alternative and modern makes Leipzig unique which is why it’s also the perfect place for everyone’s taste.
Karl-Liebknecht-Straße
Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, also lovingly called “Karli”, is one of the city's most famous streets and is considered Leipzig's southern mile. Many popular bars, cafés and pubs lurk in the Karli, making it perfect for an extensive pub crawl. Especially in summer, numerous outdoor seating areas invite you to sit down and enjoy a bite to eat.
Schleußig
Another beautiful place to linger is the Schleußig district southwest of the city centre. The special thing here is that the district is almost completely surrounded by waterways and can only be reached via bridges. Probably one of the best spots to take a deep breath and relax!

Zoo
For anyone who loves a day trip to the zoo, Leipzig Zoo is a great choice! Leipzig Zoo is huge and has many beautiful, large enclosures for all kinds of animals. In addition, there are always exciting events for visitors that make a visit to the zoo even more fun.
Karl-Heine-Canal
Another calm and idyllic spot is the palm garden at the Karl-Heine-Canal. Even though there are no more palm trees in the former recreation area nowadays, the park delights with lots of beautiful nature, bridges you can stroll over and a wonderful pond area. You can also go on a canal trip here, paddle on the water yourself or rent a motorboat, which can even take you as far as the next spot: Lake Cospuden.

Sachsenbrücke
The Sachsenbrücke is a popular meeting place for Leipzigers, especially in summer. Since no cars are allowed to drive here, the bridge is a nice and comfortable place to sit down, enjoy the sun and listen to music that is always played somewhere nearby.
Lake Cospuden
If you want some beach vibe in a city, you should head to Lake Cospuden (or short: Cossi). When the weather allows it, you can jump into the water and do water sports, enjoy the beach bar, laze on the beach or simply go for a walk. Keep your eyes open for events, because sometimes open-air festivals take place here!

Lake Kulkwitz
Lake Kulkwitz (also known as Kulki) is also a great spot to enjoy time by the water. The Kulkwitzer See is smaller than the Cossi, but less crowded and therefore a special insider tip from us. Of course, it's also a great place to swim, or if you feel like it, you can even go water skiing!

Werk 2
Werk 2 is a 170-year-old building complex and one of the largest socio-cultural centres in Saxony. Various markets, concerts, parties and open courses take place here all the time, making it a wonderful place to mingle or experience some culture.
Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations)
The Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig commemorates the Battle of the Nations, which took place in Leipzig in October 1813 and claimed thousands of victims. For over a hundred years now, an impressive structure is standing at the exact spot as a memorial. It is also a museum and a viewing platform as well as the city's national monument. Definitely a must-see in Leipzig!

Forum of Contemporary History
There are also many exciting exhibitions to discover at Leipzig's Forum of Contemporary History. There is currently a very creatively designed GDR exhibition, photographs from Ukraine and great travelling exhibitions. Admission is free and it's also a great place to visit for families.
Panorama Tower
A place that might be more touristy but is still worth a visit: the city skyscraper with its observation platform. At 142.5 meters, the tower is one of the highest skyscrapers in Germany and a landmark in Leipzig. The panorama platform awaits you on the 31st floor, which offers a wonderful view of the entire city (especially in good weather). The perfect place for a picture to remember your visit by!
