One of your first stops after arriving in Dublin, Ireland's picturesque capital with cobbled lanes and birth place of the late Oscar Wilde, might be Phoenix Park which is one of the largest urban parks in Europe and home to more than 400 deer. Stop by to pose with Bambi before exploring the rest of the country!
Starting your trip, the Northern island is well worth a visit. The Causeway Coastal Route between the cities of Belfast and Derry is a kaleidoscope of natural landscapes, imposing cliffs, bubbling mountain streams and gushing waterfalls. One of the main attractions in this area is the Giant's Causeway. Legend has it that these 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns were formed by giants!
For a gloomy and dramatic atmosphere head to the Dark Hedges - which have turned into a popular tourist location due to their cameo in Game of Thrones.
Sooner or later during your road trip, you will be visiting Ireland's most instagrammed place - the Cliffs of Moher. These sheer cliffs stretch for 14 kilometers along the West Coast and are soaring to up to 200m. They're a must see not only for Harry Potter and Star Wars fans and attract millions of visitors every year. For your ultimate photo, you might want to aim for Hag's Head which is often less crowded.
While the Cliffs of Moher certainly are the most famous, there are many breathtaking cliffs to be found along the shores of Ireland - especially following the Causeway Coastal Route and the Wild Atlantic Way in Northern and Western Ireland allows for some spectacular views! The dramatic coastline and sparkling ocean provide the perfect backdrop for every shot.
Another site you wouldn't want to miss: the Caves of Keash! The mysterious caves come with great folklore and have been subject of myths and legends for thousands of years.
If you fancy to stretch your legs after all these hours in your car, visit the stunning Glendalough area - a glacial valley tucked in the Wicklow Mountains. There is no better place for hike than here, amongst moss-spotted monastic ruins, tranquil lakes and impressive nature.
End your road trip through Irland by visiting Cobh. Historically interesting as this lovely town was the last port of call for the Titanic in 1912, it is also the ideal location to snap some beautiful photos with its rainbow-hued cottages, castle and seafront.
