"My name is Romo Jack, I am 22 years old and I live in my hometown of Jakarta, Indonesia. I would say I am a creator/artist. There are so many different works that can be called 'art' and I just love to prove that by trying new things and finding new ways to express myself. I never considered myself an artistic personality before because I was never really interested in art. But over time I realized that there is art in everything we do, in every aspect of our lives.
The idea with the hands came about by chance under #whatmyhandsdoing. I found out for myself that it is pointless to spend hours thinking about a concept for a picture that ultimately leads to nothing. Instead, it is important to notice the things around you and just start! Just as an example, every morning when I wake up until the moment I fall tired back into bed, so many things happen and my eyes see a thousand different things. Think about what your hands are doing during this time. When I realized that my hands experience thousands or even millions of different small situations a day, I thought why not try to visualize this idea.
Since I take pictures of everyday situations, it is not that difficult to take these photos. It is mainly about arranging things in such a way that they create an aesthetic image. Sometimes, however, I have ideas in my head that are difficult to realize. These thoughts are so fixed that I just can't get rid of them. That's why I often walk through small alleys and traditional markets and get inspiration to be able to realize these ideas. I think we need to be more sensitive to our environment, because no matter how small something may be, it can lead to an interesting story!
And for anyone wondering, the hands in the pictures are mine. I use a tripod and a remote shutter release to take the photos. This makes it easier to capture the perfect photo."
