Where exactly is your store located? What does it look like there?
Our shop Smunk am Kreuzberg is located in Berlin, right at the foot of the Kreuzberg diagonally opposite the waterfall. The Bergmannkiez is in the neighborhood with many nice shops, cafes and restaurants. Our small shop can be recognized from afar by the striped awning under which there are many colorful flowers, plants and of course the Pickmotion card stand. In these special times we are making more use of our outdoor area. This means our customers can stroll and shop in comfort outside the door without having to go into the shop. Of course you can also browse inside as you please.
What is the basic concept of your store? And what does the name Smunk actually stand for?
Here you will find everything your heart desires when it comes to interior design and all sorts of things that make everyday life even more beautiful. Whether it's crockery, home textiles, candles, decorative items, children's toys, vases, planters, cards for every occasion... - the list is long. In addition to all the lovely gift ideas for yourself or others, you will also find indoor and garden plants and cut flowers, which we take great pleasure in tying into special bouquets. We love Scandinavian design above all else. As a native of Hamburg, Laura is addicted to the north. That's where our name comes from - it should sound Scandinavian without having a meaning. The name is intended to remind you of your last holiday in the far north, of hours spent browsing through knick-knacks and design, of fragrant cinnamon rolls and the roaring sea. The reference to Pippi Longstocking's Spunk is of course intentional. To this day, young and old alike puzzle over it and the expression is simply fun to say. We are Smunk with all our hearts.
In your opinion, how do you fit in with Pickmotion? How did you find out about us?
The colorful motifs from Pickmotion are as diverse as our product range. They spread good cheer and are fun to give as gifts. There is something for everyone and you will find something for every occasion. Years ago we passed by a Pickmotion postcard stand and couldn't stop walking, we were so impressed by the variety of special motifs. In the end we bought cards for all our loved ones. It was clear that you couldn't be missing from our product range.
What makes your business special and differentiates you from other stores or online shops? How do you use the advantages of brick-and-mortar retail?
We are a small family business with a handful of great employees who, just like us, enjoy working on beautiful things. Our two rescue dogs Eddy & Ella are also an integral part of the team and always ensure a good mood, when they are not taking a break under the work table. We design our shop with great attention to detail and our bouquets are tied with a lot of passion. The combination of home accessories, gift ideas and fresh flowers is what makes our offer so special. There is always something new to discover! We take great pleasure in bringing together beautiful things from all over the world and especially from Scandinavia and offering them to our customers. Function and joy are the main focus. They have to be small or large things that are fun to give as a gift or to treat yourself to. Beautiful things that quickly grow on you. We are pleased to be able to offer a large range of over 4000 hand-picked items, from designer lamps to lovingly designed Pickmotion magnets.
What do you like most about Pickmotion? Which products do you like best?
Your motifs are colorful, varied and designed with lots of love. You can give them away without words or hang them on the wall. Our customers also really appreciate the variety of motifs. If you are looking for the right card for a small gift, you will always find it. You place great value on quality in all your products, which has also completely convinced us. In addition to your postcards, we are particularly impressed by your magnets. In our shop you will also find a large board with a great selection of colorful Pickmotion magnets.
