His story with Instagram began very soberly. A friend encouraged him to try out a new app, which then more or less languished on his smartphone for a year and a half - Instagram, of course. Since the beginning of 2014, @herr_pola_roid has been extremely active on the platform, posting a picture every day and soon inevitably ending up on the suggested user list and receiving a following. He has now been featured not only by Instagram Germany, but also by Instagram US, each with a picture. Michael Koller has had a remarkable meteoric rise.

The sociable and polite Munich native, who is a master of energy and building technology, is particularly delighted by the community character of Instagram and raves: "It's incredibly beautiful! I think it's great how people who share a passion come together." In every major city in Europe, Michael Koller has Instagram contacts who show him their places.

@herr_pola_roid started with “Hipstamatic” in a pretty colorful retro style, experimented with different formats, went through a black and white phase, but quickly found his real subject, architecture, through inspiration from others. He, who previously had little to do with photography, can now spend a long time in front of a building to set the scene and find the right angle. He, whose only reference point for photography was his parents' Polaroid camera, which is why he gave himself the IG name, is now embarking on adventures to explore corners, places and moments.
