The city's newest and arguably most breathtaking landmark, the Elbphilharmonie (also affectionately called "Elphi") is truly a masterpiece of modern architecture, definitely worth a visit - either for one of the many concerts or just to marvel at it - and depending on the angle, even the cityscape of Hamburg is reflected in its facade, as can be seen in the cover photo by @gregorklar .

If you want to start your day in a relaxed manner and in a special atmosphere, you should take a walk to the Oevelgönne museum harbor early in the morning mist. Here you can leisurely examine the treasures of traditional and historical boats and treat yourself to a delicious Franz sandwich or even a fish sandwich for breakfast.

Or you can go to the port to be fascinated by the hustle and bustle of this huge transshipment point.

Here you will find beautiful sailing ships that will take you back to another, bygone era of shipping.

But you can also stroll through the Tetris labyrinth of giant shipping containers and use the colorful backdrop as a motif for interesting pictures.

If you want to experience a little more of the typical Hamburg city culture at lunchtime, you can fortify yourself for the afternoon in a Hamburg restaurant or kiosk. Whether it's fish such as eel or just a refreshing drink - you'll definitely find real "Hamburger Leud'" in these places.

Of course, you can also head past some of the many unusual and special murals and visit some of the typical tourist attractions.

You should definitely not miss the Speicherstadt, the town hall and the Alstersee.

If you are in Hamburg on a Sunday, you should not miss the legendary and world-famous Hamburg fish market in Altona.

And to end the day, you should take a leisurely boat trip through Hamburg's canals and inland waters and then experience the nightlife in St. Pauli.

After a tour of Hamburg like this, you will definitely love the city and you won't want to leave any time soon, or you'll want to come back as soon as possible. I can guarantee that. If you're still looking for a cheap and special place to stay, take a look at one of Hamburg's Superbuden - accommodation full of creativity and the coolest thing - you'll even find our postcards there to send your loved ones unusual greetings from the (in our opinion) second most beautiful city in the world.
