What you need:
- a lid (use any lid of an old jar you have in your kitchen )
- walnuts
- glue (a glue gun works best)
- a candle
For decoration:
Here you can get creative and play around, choose your favorite colors and make use of things you have at home. Small flowers and plant leaves are a very good idea. We used some of our leftover Christmas decorations.
Tip: Before you start make sure to choose a lid that has a slightly bigger size than your candle so the candle will fit easily.
Step one:
First place your lid on your working area (you might want to use some newspaper to cover your table) and start gluing the walnuts to the sides of it. Make sure that the walnuts are glued really well on the sides by pressing them together tight with your fingers for a few seconds.
Wait until the first layer is dry before starting to work on the second row. Simply glue the walnuts in between the empty spaces of the first layer, wait until it dries and repeat for the third layer.
Step two:
After having all the three layers done and dried, it’s time for decoration!
Using glue in this step is optional, you may need to glue the decoration or just stick it in between the empty spaces. Gluing the decoration will make sure that they will hold in place for a longer time.
We started with adding green leaves and finished it off with some small dried flowers which we placed between the walnuts.
Now all that is left to do is add your favorite candle and light it!
And here you have it, the perfect winter candle holder. Place it in your living room, kitchen or bedroom and enjoy your cozy evening! We hope you enjoy recreating this easy DIY! Feel free to share your candle holder with us on Instagram by tagging us with @pickmotion!
