PICTOFACTUM - SPRICH MIT DER DESIGNERIN HÖCHSTPERSÖNLICH

PICTOFACTUM - TALK TO THE DESIGNER PERSONALLY

Anyone who walks past Gitte Nicolaus's shop will not be able to tear themselves away from the shop window. In her shop PICTOFACTUM she offers her handmade jewelry, which consists of a mixture of optical illusion, simplicity and beauty.

In addition to her jewelry, the concept store sells cards and accessories with a focus on designers in Berlin. She wants to showcase the many great labels that Berlin has to offer - including Pickmotion.

PICTOFACTUM and Pickmotion sound somewhat similar and so we found it particularly interesting what lies behind this name. Gitte explained to us that she once told her friends about her handmade jewelry when she was looking for a suitable name. "After a few glasses of wine and word games, we came up with the name PICTOFACTUM. A mixture of the word forms picto, Latin for "to decorate", but also derived from picture and factum, which means something like event, action or deed."

The jewelry should be simple, but at the same time extraordinary. This is where modern, geometric design and delicate craftsmanship come together. Special attention is also paid to value, sustainability, fairness and local production.

Anyone who comes to Gitte's shop can have a chat with her, which is particularly interesting because she is the designer of her products. You can even watch how the jewelry is made. You can also implement your wishes directly and easily because her small workshop is in the shop.

They were made aware of Pickmotion by shop owners and a friend from the neighborhood. The simple and clear style is what connects PICTOFACTUM and Pickmotion, along with similar wording. Gitte thinks that Pickmotion appeals to customers visually with the motifs and their directness. "I think it's nice that the company is based in Berlin. I appreciate the quality of the motifs, the prints and the paper on the cards. The envelopes are also great. I have a good feeling when my customers buy cards."
We feel very honored by so much praise.
