Mathias is a sociable and likeable fellow who is a pleasure to spend time with in the office, and his very interesting life path has led him to an internship here with us; one of the last stages on his future-oriented educational journey. He has already been through a lot and can boast a good portion of knowledge, life and professional experience. A welcome addition for us, even if it is only temporary for the time being.
Mathias comes from the beautiful town of Oranienburg in Brandenburg, just a few kilometers north of Berlin city center. He lives here with his wife and six-year-old daughter, because they prefer a quieter life than the fast, crazy Berlin city life, and they even have big plans for an interesting family project in rural Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
An unexpected surprise: Mathias is currently still in the German army, but his twelve-year commitment will soon be over. After secondary school, he trained as an electrician, then joined the army, where, as part of his commitment, he also completed further training as an IT specialist for system integration and then his master's degree in information technology. After a few stops at the Eiffel, in Storkow and on Lake Starnberg, he is now back home to study printing and media technology as a further career measure.
At the same time, he is working hard to make a dream come true with his wife and daughter - a farm on the Baltic Sea. Not just a simple farm, but one of a special kind - it is to be a co-working retreat for creative people, a place for an open community. But not only that, because the overall concept will be based on sustainability and future viability, above all he is relying on the cradle-to-cradle principle and permaculture. Due to their sense of responsibility towards the environment, he and his family are also trying to reduce their travel, particularly cheap long-distance trips are not necessary. But that does not mean that he does not find traveling interesting in itself, he has also visited countries such as Spain, Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic and Ireland. Mathias' hobbies are more tactile, in manual processes such as analogue photography and related printing techniques, e.g. the collodion wet plate process, which he pursues at night when everyone else is asleep. And he also has a good dose of self-humour, as he says he has a word-finding disorder, which often leads to interesting word creations of his own that make you smile.
We are very happy to have Mathias in the graphics team and that he can also support us with his IT knowledge - a real all-rounder. His favorite PICKMOTION card? The ZG-0869-DE "You can never have enough sea", which we created together with @chris77ho , because in his opinion it fits perfectly with the coastal farm project.
