Frankfurt's skyline can be seen from a great distance, whether from land or air - it is the city's hallmark and an absolute eye-catcher, as it is unique in Germany. A view over the roofs of Frankfurt (as in the cover photo by @raquelvsa ) in particular shows the enormous contrast between the modern skyscrapers and the city's older architecture.

Frankfurt is filled with wonders of modern architecture, sometimes more, sometimes less striking. An interesting feast for the eyes is the MyZeil shopping center on the Zeil, one of the most famous and highest-selling shopping streets in Germany.

The city is located directly on the Main and is crossed by it - that's why there are quite a few bridges here. The most famous is probably the Eiserner Steg, but the lesser-known ones are also perfect for enjoying and capturing wonderful views.

In the east of the city, at the Osthafen, is the new ECB building, surrounded by a local recreation park and one of the largest outdoor skate parks in the city. This area is definitely worth a visit, as it is home to artists, small galleries and wonderful opportunities to discover the delights of urban, sustainable cuisine.

In the opposite part of town there is another architectural landmark of the city, the Westhafen Tower. Here too you can stroll and enjoy yourself, either directly on the water or in one of the small, cozy parks.

Just as impressive as the architecture above ground is the world of Frankfurt's subway stations, often in a very futuristic style.

Frankfurt is a city that has produced many famous personalities, most notably Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a poet, thinker and man of science. Science plays an important role in the city, as one of the most prestigious universities in the country is located here, and on its campus you can also find the famous sculpture of the "Body of Knowledge".

And of course, a few highlights of Frankfurt's historic city architecture should not be missed, such as the Eschenheimer Tower, the Old Opera and not forgetting the Römerberg, the historic old town center with its Gothic, Baroque buildings and half-timbered houses.
