LINDABERLIN

"After my alarm clock, Instagram is the first app I open every morning," she explains in an interview with Pickmotion. Since joining Instagram in 2012, Linda has uploaded more than 2,600 pictures, but has also taken breaks from time to time and sought distance. For the Berlin native, Instagram can perhaps best be described as a passionate love-hate relationship. Instagram offers inspiration and a stage, but also a lot of nerves and energy.

@lindaberlin is one of the real explorers on Instagram: she really wants to discover new things and not just copy what has already been done. She spends a long time looking for her subjects and sometimes waits an hour for the perfect moment to press the shutter button. She is extremely interested in street photography, everyday life and the light and dark sides of architecture from the 60s and 70s. "Estates are great!" she says. Social housing since the 1920s offers many picturesque details and beautiful symmetries.

An Instagrammer knows what's going on, and there are some pictures where you just can't go wrong. But Linda also follows personal preferences, travels to the East German provinces and, as a trained photographer, has made Instagram her own without becoming an Instagram victim. Her pictures are poetic, lonely and ironic, or as she herself says, "girly stuff: pennants, soft and bright."
