Just from the sight of the Frauenkirche and the view over the rooftops of the city, you can absolutely understand the love that the people of Munich feel for their city from the cover photo by @samooljubav .

In summer, Munich is actually great to explore by bike, but if it gets as hot as it has been in recent weeks, it is definitely worth paying a visit to Munich's underground and subway stations. On the one hand, you can find a welcome cooling off here, and on the other hand, you can see interesting, colorful architecture.

But the hustle and bustle in Munich is not only found underground, but also in the rest of the city, such as at a shopping center in the north of the city.

Colorful floral displays can be found everywhere in Munich, as there are many beautiful gardens and parks in the city. A visit to Gärtnerplatz is always particularly worthwhile, as you can find some of the most beautiful flower arrangements in the city here.

Art and architecture can be found in Munich in all their glory, because aesthetics and cultural life play an important role here – and have done so for centuries.

A visit to the endless staircase is a must when visiting Munich.

And you just have to enjoy one of Bavaria's most important consumer and cultural goods - either in one of the many inns with beer gardens or, if you like it big - on the Wies'n at the Oktoberfest.

A special highlight that you shouldn't miss to get an incredibly breathtaking 360-degree view of the city is the Hi-Sky Ferris wheel.

And if you like things dreamy and fairytale-like, you should treat yourself to a walk along the Marienklausensteg.

Strolling along the Fabrikbach, you pass the beautiful St. Luke's Church. From here, you can end the day by sitting down in the Hofgarten or, like many young Munich residents, you can head to the Hackerbrücke to enjoy the sunset over the train tracks of Munich Central Station.

So don’t miss Munich and our new city series.
