For your own flower candles you need:
- Candles
- Flowers of your choice
- A book about flower pressing
- Brush or spoon
- Tealight
Besides the candles of your choice, you will of course need some pretty flowers! Simply find fresh flowers outside on a nice walk or buy some from a flower shop. For an autumnal look, you can also look for small colorful leaves outside! Once you are back home, grab a thick book and carefully place your haul between some pages, close the book and let the plants dry overnight. Tip: Before you put the flowers in, place a piece of baking paper between the pages to protect your book from potential stains!
Next, light a tea light, get your candles and dried flowers ready, and grab a brush or spoon. Tip: Prepare a piece of newspaper or kitchen paper as a base to protect your table from wax stains! Position one of the flowers on your candle, dip your brush or the tip of a spoon into the melted wax of the tea light, and use it to dab the flower onto your candle. You can decide at what height and how many different flowers you want to attach to your candle, just make sure that the flowers are not lying directly on top of each other. Also, don't use too much wax, otherwise the beautiful colors of the flowers will disappear under the dried wax.
