WINTER IS FOR CUDDLING – #POSTCARDSOFTHEMONTH

For all those cuddle monsters who have to defend their passion against the one who suffers from spontaneous cuddle attacks (if that is even possible), here are some very good arguments why we should definitely cuddle more often instead of less:

  • Cuddling is super healthy! Physical contact releases oxytocin, which not only helps us strengthen relationships, but can also reduce anxiety, depression and blood pressure.
  • In addition to oxytocin, the happiness hormone serotonin is also released. An extra portion of happiness is not bad in itself, but serotonin also brings a health bonus: the combination of serotonin and oxytocin is particularly good for the immune system. One study has even found that people who hug others more often are more resistant to persistent colds!
  • The Danish concept of 'Hygge' is still very popular here. Rumor has it that it also explains why the Danes are among the happiest people in the world. Hygge essentially means creating a warm and inviting atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with the people who are close to you. Cuddling is also hygge and that's it - excuses against cuddling no longer count!
