COOL THINGS TO PASS THE TIME

Jul 10, 2024Lorenz Hartmann

After the grey and dreary winter, the long wait was finally over and spring had arrived. Unfortunately, we were all looking forward to chilling days in the park a little too early, because completely unexpectedly, Corona not only put a stop to our plans, but to the whole world. What a pity. But we won't let that get us down - whether inside or outside, the sun increases euphoria and the urge to act; but so that this doesn't turn into passive series or film streaming within a few minutes and we stuff ourselves with delicious food out of boredom, we have put together a few cool tips for you that will revive your creative side.

Writing postcards

Simple and always a joy for those who receive the card. You don't have to be a writer to put a few words on paper or, in this case, on a postcard. Let your creativity run wild, write encouraging messages, write little stories or just a few kind words of greeting to all your loved ones, family, friends and acquaintances and make them happy. Unfortunately, handwritten greetings are becoming more and more of a rarity these days and are therefore becoming something very special.

Creative Easter eggs

In keeping with the upcoming Easter holidays and actually already a well-known tradition - painting Easter eggs. But how about a slightly different way of decorating them? All you need is white eggs, small plants or leaves, small nets (old tights) and onion skins.
And this is how it works:
Apply plant material to the eggs (if necessary, secure with a thread), then secure the arrangement with the net, pull tight and tie a knot. Put the onion skins in water and then add the eggs to cook them - and after a few minutes you will have your very own herbarium-style Easter eggs.

Flowery stationery

You can make your own small stationery products with very simple means - how about your own cards, decorated with self-stamped rose motifs? What do you need? Watercolor or craft paper, cabbage, stamp pads in different colors.
And this is how it works:
Cut off the lower part (approx. 5cm) of the cabbage with a clean, straight cut and then pat dry with a kitchen towel. Then press it into an ink pad, then onto the paper and your little stationery work of art is ready. Let your floral imagination run wild.

Create your own shoes

In spring, nature finally shines in many colors again - so let yourself be inspired and add some color and very individual patterns to your shoes. When you can finally go out on the street again soon, your creations will definitely be the eye-catcher of the summer. All you need: white fabric shoes, textile markers and a bit of imagination. So become a fashion designer for a moment and make the world of feet a little more colorful than usual.

Make your own mini flower pots and candle holders

We all love to decorate our homes with pretty flowers and candles - so how about a simple but unusual holder for these two things? You don't need much more than a tin can and wooden clothespins. Clean the tin can and then clamp the wooden clothespins onto it, arranged close together, decorate a little and you're done.
