Where exactly is your store located? What does it look like there?

Our shop for unusual gifts is located in the middle of the pub and trendy district of Dresden-Neustadt, which is the largest connected Wilhelminian-era district in Europe. A district with many exciting, individual shops and pubs far away from the usual mainstream and now the ultimate insider tip for visitors to Dresden. Here you can sit in cafes and bars, eat delicious food, shop and the Elbe meadows are just a stone's throw away for chilling. The historic old town is not far away either, as it can be reached quickly over one of the many bridges.

What is the basic concept of your store?

Our slogan is: "CATAPULT - every gift is a hit!", because we always have the right and unusual gift for every occasion and for every age group from 0-99 years. For over 20 years we have been constantly on the lookout for really unusual gifts that are not available anywhere else in Dresden. In order to track down the latest trends, we are always curious about trade fairs and when it comes to lifestyle trends, we always like to be the first to have the coolest gifts in the store.

In your opinion, how do you fit in with PICKMOTION? How did you find PICKMOTION?

PICKMOTION was once introduced to us in our store by the founder Lorenz Hartmann and we were immediately enthusiastic about the unusual postcard concept. We were one of the first stores in Germany to quickly have a complete PICKMOTION range in store and to this day it is actually one of our most successful cards. We fit together so well because we have special gifts that go perfectly with the cards.

What is special about your shop? How do you use the advantages of brick-and-mortar retail? How do you differentiate yourself from other shops and/or online shops?

One of our "specials" is a complete range of gifts just for men, as they are by far the hardest people to buy gifts for. As CATAPULT is run by two men, we naturally have a lot of fun doing this. Apart from that, as natives of Dresden, we are very enthusiastic about our home town and our district of Äußere Neustadt. We are constantly developing new, cool gifts with a regional focus and are now marketing some of them nationwide. This is how we came up with the DDR-Wundertüte and a complete range of Säggsschen Bosdgarden (Saxon postcards), which have now become real bestsellers.

What do you like most about PICKMOTION? Which products do you like best?

What we particularly like about PICKMOTION is the fresh style of the motifs, which literally evoke imagination and joie de vivre. What is great for us and our customers is that new motifs are constantly being added. That keeps things really exciting. We like the postcards and folding cards best, and what is even better is that they sell so well with us.
