Silvana was born in Switzerland, but has been living in her heart's city since 2008 - namely, Berlin. She lives happily in the Speckgürtel district with her wonderful patchwork family and loves the mix of country life and close proximity to the city. What makes Berlin so special for her is its diversity: she loves spending Sundays at the Mauerpark, enjoying the evening after work on the banks of the Spree or discovering the culinary diversity in Kreuzberg. However, when she is up and about, dinner still usually ends up being her favourite kebab.
Silvana actually studied art history and journalism for years, but realised after a while that this direction didn't make her happy. So she started working at a retail store for children's toys - where, by the way, you could also find our beautiful Pickmotion postcards! As fate would have it, she finally joined us after a few years and now supports our team in the ordering department!
To balance her time at the office, Silvana loves to get active in her free time. She loves to go running or cycling or just walking around the city and discovering new corners or even collecting fresh mushrooms in the forest. In 2019, she even took part in the Berlin Marathon and despite a previous injury and accompanying break, she made it across the finish line, which is something to be mighty proud of! If she still has some time at home, Silvana also likes to swing the baking spoon - although she wouldn't call herself a sweet tooth. Fortunately, she always finds reliable eaters in her family. What also always makes Silvana happy is the opportunity to go to a live concert of her favourite rock or metal bands!
Her favourite motif from Pickmotion is the flying house (ZG-0243), which we designed with @hey.luisa. For her, it symbolises fantasy, freedom and the courage to dream which fits wonderfully with her life motto: "Be brave and listen to your heart!” She thinks that life is too short to be unhappy and not to dare new beginnings. We are very happy to have such a motivated and adventurous person in our team and look forward to our adventures together!
