@laura.liebt gives diary-like insight into Laura’s life and work. The black wall in the living room, the collection of records and the cooking are as much part of them as topics that appeal to many women – body awareness and empowerment in everyday life. With a lot of wit and Swabian charm and tongue Laura shares thoughts, sometimes criticizes Instagram and is simply extremely authentic. “I started reading blogs early and it’s natural for me to share my thoughts. I do not think about privacy first when I post.”
We ask her if she has become a Berliner. She rejects this vehemently – out of modesty, because the Berliners would tear their hair out at such statements – but Laura admits frankly, she just loves everything about Berlin since she stepped out first time at the subway station Warschauer Straße six years ago. The cool summers, the street art, Friedrichshain. “But in my heart I will always remain Swabian.”
Laura got interested in photography as a teenager and earned the money for the first camera herself. Then she completed an apprenticeship at a photography agency specializing in wedding photography, by the way, along with another PICKMOTION photographer – @oh_hedwig. When she was sent off first time alone as an assistant after a few weddings, her heart almost stopped beating in excitement. Laura is now financing her studies in communication design at the HTW in Berlin with weddings. As much as she loves her job, in the long run she does not want to go to weddings every summer weekend.
Despite the remarkable 180 weddings she accompanied, wedding photography has not become routine until today – a bit of excitement is always a part of it, especially if Laura has a longer journey. She packs a lovely package for her couples after a completed assignment – with some real prints. With many former customers even friendships have developed. But honestly, who does not want to have Laura as a photographer on their big day when she says things like, “Every love is unique and it’s an honor to be able to document such a private moment and to be a part of it.”
