Franziska grew up in the Spreewald, south of Berlin - a sheltered childhood followed by a stormy youth, so that her parents said early on "Child, you're crazy, you have to go to Berlin!" - advice that she immediately followed. She lives in Neukölln and enjoys the hustle and bustle of Hermannstrasse - "it often feels like a vacation" - like most people, she is a neighborhood patriot and quickly longs for Neukölln in Wedding.
For Franziska, photography is a way to balance out her job. She studied public administration - "I know, totally boring!" and will be working for the Senate Department for the Interior and Sport from June. She devotes 3-4 days a week to photography - and loves walks. "I like to hang out with others. Because: I hate making decisions! When you're out with several people, you simply see more and can take on different perspectives." So she spontaneously went to Warsaw for an Instawalk with @loewe7 and @ellamsinger, but the Dresden Walk of Museums and countless personal arrangements to go on walks together have also been reflected in her gallery.
I ask @fraenze_berlin what a crazy kid is doing in Berlin? The answer comes promptly: Not only is he dyeing his hair from jet black to blonde, but he's also doing an internship with the police. Bobby was Franziska's bunny, by the way, and he kept popping up in her gallery - when he died, she drove back to the Spreewald and buried Bobby in her grandfather's garden.
She tries to post every two days – for aesthetic things on her @fraenze_berlin account, for fun on @fraenze_wonderlust. Despite this, she says: "I'm one of the lazy ones. I'm actually quite glad that I was never on the suggested user list – I don't want to constantly post, I want to enjoy Instagram." She also loves to travel – she is magically drawn to cities like Paris and Budapest, and she even visits Paris regularly. "I've lost my heart to the city," she enthuses. And New York, as the "big brother of Berlin," is at the top of her wish list. Vienna is next – a place where her parents have already been but Franziska hasn't – "I can't let that get to me," she says mischievously.
@fraenze_berlin particularly recommends these Igers:
@vutheara – because it awakens the longing for Paris
@steffimarla – because of her girlish charm
@bantko – because of the contrast to Berlin, because he only photographs nature
