When she took part in the first Instawalk in the summer of 2012 and was able to make many new contacts, her enthusiasm grew and her initial skepticism was banished. In December 2012, she founded the Instagram community @koelnergram together with @kayhan_yilmaz (now @ka_ypsilon ), @guevi and @adrianrichter and since then she has regularly organized walks, collaborations and challenges of the kind made popular by @jj Josh Johnson (now @jjcommunity ). The open-minded participants and the relaxed atmosphere are always an incentive and confirmation - there is no trace of competition. "On the contrary! We exchange ideas - for example about the apps we use."
@Lailie is a big fan of colors "I like black and white too, but color way too much!" she says. She often concentrates on a single detail in her pictures. She spent four years walking the streets of Cologne and knows her city fabulously, but she also knows that a single moment, a new perspective is still possible, especially in places where you think you know your way around. Her impressions from the road sometimes make the account seem as colorful as that of a travel blogger, although Michaela works as a project manager for a TV station. @Lailie crops many photos, because of course she doesn't always shoot in square format. And she edits her images with VSCO, faded and snap seed.
Michaela, who at some point created an avatar for herself with the name Lailie and then stuck with that name, grew up partly in England and is still very much connected to the culture. This fact may also be the reason why her gallery appears very sophisticated and light; she says: "My style is influenced by the people I enthusiastically follow!"
