A week ago, I was travelling for the first time in two years. I had just arrived at the airport in Vienna and was waiting for my connecting flight to Klagenfurt when I decided to visit the bookshop at the gate, hoping to find a nice magazine before boarding. In front of the shop, there was a display of postcards, which reminded me that I still needed a birthday card for one of my friends. As I was looking for the right card, one particular card in the lower third of the display immediately caught my eye: it was my own!
Even though it's been two years since I started working with Pickmotion, it still fills me with joy and happiness when I see my card in a shop somewhere. It's so nice to see that my work is out there waiting to be discovered by others and to bring them joy.
If I've ever sent you a card and you've wondered why you keep getting the same one, it's because I always buy my own card as an act of gratitude when I see one somewhere.
New collaboration
In July, Eszter from Pickmotion contacted me for a new collaboration and I was really excited about the offer that my images could be part of their new product line, a photo calendar series for 2022.
Even though we all have a digital calendar these days, it is not comparable to a traditional paper calendar. There are two different versions of the calendar available - a wall calendar and a monthly planner - and there are different themes such as mountains, coast & sea, magical world, travel, plants, cities, etc. Two of my paintings can be found in the botanical series.
Wall calendar
The wall calendar has a great format of 30x40 cm and shows 12 botanical motifs - one for each month. The motifs represent the diversity and beauty of nature. Pickmotion selected the motifs while looking for beautiful, minimalist photos on Instagram. The calendar is printed on thick and matte, high-quality paper. If you like the motifs, you can then cut them out and frame them or use them as wrapping paper.
The wall calendar is a great gift and/or a wonderful decorative item for the home.
My pictures represent the months of October and December. We have a large print of the fern photo in our living room and I am delighted that my pictures will soon be hanging on your wall and accompanying you for two months.
Monthly planner
The monthly planner is a great companion, especially for those who like to plan and organize the next year. The images are printed in a square format, so there is enough space for all appointments and notes. There are three columns for each month, which you can use individually to suit your needs: You can share the calendar with the family and enter all of each person's important tasks, or you can use the calendar just for yourself by dividing the columns into birthdays, self-care and work appointments or travel, friends and social media postings - as you can see, there are unlimited possibilities to design the planner according to your wishes.
The design of the calendar with the square images and the motivational quotes on the photos reminds me of the traditional Pickmotion postcards – so if you like the cards, you will definitely like the planner too.
