While there is still a lot of room for clarification on the subject of equality, there are still more than enough reasons to be proud of us women and to enjoy being a woman to the fullest! We hope you will share love and strength this International Women's Day - maybe even with one of our postcards.
And since a little ego boost is never a bad thing, we've collected some of the reasons why it's great to be a woman.
Tough women go anywhere
Women are more resistant to disease and live longer than men. In fact, we are strong enough to withstand pain that would bring men to their knees. And we have much more strength within us than one might think at first glance.
Smart is beautiful...
...and we have the brain for it! Even though ours is smaller than men's, our brains are still more efficient in many ways. Research suggests that women are better at inductive reasoning and processing changing situations, for example. Our memory is also better - even though our brain size is eight percent smaller than that of men.
We dress to impress
Women can enjoy a much wider range of clothing choices than men - and without breaking too much of the social norm. After all, we could show up at a gala event in a tracksuit or bathrobe and still look "iconic". Our fashion options also make us much better at dealing with hot summer days and (a huge plus!) dresses with pockets are currently in.
Girl Boss
We're better managers. Surveys have shown that women collaborate more with their colleagues and employees, and we're generally known to have better multitasking and communication skills. Research shows that we actually use a much wider range of words in social situations. If that doesn't sound like a raise!
Who runs the world? Girls!
And the fictional world even more so. After all, it is women who have written some of the most successful book series of our time. Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games or 50 Shades of Grey - you have certainly followed at least one of these stories.
This list goes on and on - so be yourself, be amazing and enjoy being a woman!
