@elfestivalito aka Heiko Kühl is a real Neubrandenburg native. He knows the city of 63,000 people two hours from Berlin like the back of his hand: "You see a lot of people with walkers here, a few pretty people, grey hair and Adler clothes," he says. But he is actually a fan of his sometimes dreary hometown: "I have been at home here for as long as I can remember. It is relaxed, idyllic and beautiful here - and I find peace when I want peace."
While Heiko appreciates the nightlife, international flair and anonymity in Berlin, there is also exchange in the other direction. When he invited people to a photo walk last September ( #visit_neubrandenburg , #mp_neubrandenburg ), the people who came included @karstenkimble , @urbanentdecker_ , @loewe7 and the makers of mobile photography @kickin and @brainyartist . The Berliners were particularly taken with the cultural centre by architect legend Ulrich Müther. It looks like the modest sister of the Tempodrom in Berlin and is actually over 20 years older.
@elfestivalito's stream is characterized by soft colors, he uses Instagram and his smartphone almost exclusively. "I like reflection the most," explains the founder of the ironic false friends #ic_carroofreflections and a big fan of #lookingup and #minimalarchitecture. He is also a shareholder in shooter magazine, and his plans for 2016? Buy a camera to "get even more out of the pictures."
@elfestivalito curates @pickmotion with his favorite Igers this weekend.
