First and foremost, we would like to recommend Weißensee to you - because this district is not only super chic, it is also where Pickmotion is headquartered! In Weißensee there are beautiful old buildings as well as modern architecture to discover and a large park invites you to relax and take a deep breath. Another highlight is the lido right on the lake - perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.

There are also some great backyards to discover in Berlin. We recommend the Heckmann-Höfe at Oranienburger Str. 32. Here you are guaranteed to spend a few cozy hours surrounded by beautiful rose bushes, a fountain, various creative shops with handicrafts and restaurants.

Another popular park is the Volkspark in Friedrichshain . Here, many monuments commemorate the history of democracy in Germany and offer plenty of space for relaxation, as well as sports and playgrounds for children and families. The beautiful garden cafés are ideal for a cozy coffee in the green.
In Friedrichshain we also recommend the b-ware! Ladenkino . It combines a video store, indie cinema and bar. Slightly quirky but still charming, the store offers a large selection of cool films - for home or in a cinema.

You can get a real market feeling in Markthalle Neun in the trendy Kreuzberg 36 district. Except on Sundays, the gates are open every day from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (and even from 10 a.m. on Saturdays) and offer all kinds of delicacies. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, there is also a traditional weekly market in the hall. Thursday evenings (from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.) can be particularly busy, because that's when "Street Food Thursday" opens, where there are many culinary delicacies to discover. There are also other food events taking place all the time, such as a Naschmarkt, Cheese Festival or Berlin Coffee Festival. It's worth stopping by!

In a big city like Berlin, flea markets are not uncommon and there are many treasures to be found there too. The Flowmarkt in Neukoelln on Maybachufer - also known as the "design flea market" - offers many stalls with second-hand clothing, vintage, bags, handicrafts, furniture and more every other Sunday. Everyone is sure to find a small or even larger treasure there.

If you want some time to breathe, we recommend a visit to The Greens . A super cute café where - as the name suggests - you are surrounded by lots of greenery and can relax comfortably! Here you can buy delicious organic and fair trade coffee, as well as other drinks and snacks. You can also browse for some plants and take them home with you.

In Berlin-Mitte , The Reed offers a special mix of gastronomy and event location. The club restaurant is known for its delicious brunch on the weekend, but also for its bar with its digital gallery and, of course, its dance floor. You certainly won't get bored here!

You can easily take a trip into nature at the city farm in the Herzberge landscape park. A visit is particularly recommended so that you can roam through the flowerbeds with young children, steal the buckets from the little scarecrows' heads and marvel at the many flowers. On top of that, you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables and enjoy delicious ice cream.

Time for a break with delicious snacks and cool drinks? The Hafenküche in Rummelsburg is located right on the Spree and provides maritime charm. When it gets warm outside, the beer garden opens and offers delicious grilled food and plenty of sunshine or the perfect atmosphere for a warm summer night.

The Funkhaus on Nalepastrasse is described as "typical Berlin". Here you can enjoy a delicious beer right on the Spree, try delicious pizza from the stone oven, watch a ferry or sit in one yourself and experience great concerts. There are also guided tours of the original recording studios and recording rooms.

For nature lovers, a visit to Britzer Garden is recommended. The green oasis is a large landscape park with a large lake in the center. The perfect place for a break in the countryside or sporting activities, as well as for admiring the colorful variety of plants. The tulips in bloom in the summer are a particularly wonderful sight. Sometimes there are also cool events such as live concerts or special gardening shows.

You can experience a real cinema highlight at the Delphi Filmpalast . The building was built in 1927-28 and was once the venue for outstanding dance orchestras. After the Second World War, the building was rebuilt and restored again a few years ago and now offers numerous films in a retro atmosphere.

For further urban detours, we recommend the Sprengelkiez , which is located in the Wedding district. The neighborhood takes its name from Sprengelstrasse, which is lined with many bars, cafés, and restaurants. Not far away is the Chibee restaurant, which serves delicious Korean chicken and beer. In the Sprengelkiez, you are also not far from nature. Here you can take a great walk along the north bank and have a picnic. For a cool dip in the water, the Plötzensee is one of the most central bathing lakes in Berlin, but where you still feel like you are somewhere else entirely. A little further behind the Plötzensee is the Volkspark Rehberge, where selected films can be seen under the open sky in the open-air cinema .

If you want to see Berlin from below, you should take a Berlin Underground Tour . The non-profit organization offers tours through mysterious tunnels and bunkers that many have long forgotten about. In addition to exhibits, there are also eyewitness accounts and modern projection techniques that bring the underground stories back to life.

A very special insider tip from Pickmotion is the Teufelsberg ! A former listening station has been converted into one of the largest street art galleries in the world and a very special event location. Visitors can also take part in a guided tour to learn more about the history and see Berlin from a completely different perspective on the roof terrace of the tower building.
