SNAP is based on Roman Road in East London. It's on a busy main road, nestled between a cafe and a tattoo parlour. The outside is pretty scruffy! But the inside is bright (very bright!) and clean with simple, industrial style fixtures in wood and metal. There are 2 large windows which allow tons of light in. There is a whole wall of cards to see as you enter. I also love using found objects for display- we have spray painted tyres, metal buckets, painted bricks and reclaimed industrial metal shelves to hold the products. There are also loads of fairy lights- they are totally ok for all year round!

What’s the basic concept of the shop?
SNAP is a fun shop with a big heart. We sell a wide range of greeting cards. Alongside that we have a big selection of beautiful and giftable products including stationery, kids toys and books, jewellery, scented candles and art. We’ve become known for a place to come and easily pick up the perfect present for friends and family. We also have lots of customers treating themselves, too! There is a strong focus on bright, contemporary design.
What’s special about your shop?
I don’t think people expect it when they come across the shop. It’s colourful and welcoming and I have made so many friends from being here - both customers and other business owners.
I choose everything that is stocked in the shop, and make sure it sits within the overall brand. There is also a focus on local products and East London - we love our local area and have sweatshirts, prints, cards, books and even soap that represent East London. It’s great working with independent designers who can make specific products and designs.

In your opinion, how does your shop fit with Pickmotion and its products? How did you become aware of Pickmotion?
My lovely agent Jake, showed me Pickmotion and it was a perfect fit. The addition of the magnets has also been great. We suit the bright modern style and quirky design that Pickmotion does so well.

What do you like most about Pickmotion?
The cards are sweet and funny and the magnets are a winner and sell really well. Also the spinner Pickmotion provides for them is smart and fits beautifully within the shop. Plus, Pickmotion is based in Berlin which is one of my favourite places!! :)
