Although Lydia was born in Magdeburg and grew up in Brandenburg, she has always been a Berliner at heart. Her family has always lived in Berlin's suburbs, so she was drawn to the city at an early age. In 2008, Lydia finally moved to Berlin and found her home first in beautiful Pankow and now in Lichtenberg. There are many beautiful places in Berlin: Köpenick has many corners to offer, but she also thinks that Weißensee and Viktoriapark in Kreuzberg are always worth a visit. For eating out, Lydia prefers to go to Prenzlauer Berg, while the best pubs can be found at Frankfurter Tor or Pankow. Her insider tip: the terrific Czech pub "Prager Frühling".
Lydia's heart beats for her friends! That's why she loves to explore Berlin with them or go to concerts (preferably rock or metal) with them. One of her favourite concert moments was the day she and two friends celebrated her 18th birthday at Farin Urlaub's concert. One friend had prepared a banner especially for the occasion and the whole audience including Farin Urlaub sang happy birthday to her!
In her free time, Lydia likes to follow a rather unusual hobby: re-enactment. Together with a club that is set in the 15th century, she recreates historical life. They fence, shoot crossbows, dance and even run a bathhouse. Sometimes you can also find them at festivals, such as the Hussite Festival in Bernau, where they set up medieval tents, depict camp life, explain armour and cook according to historical recipes. Lydia is also responsible for the historical bathhouse and provides guests with drinks and a shoulder massage. To her, it’s the best balance to everyday life!
Before Lydia came to work in our ordering department, she used to work in retail for many years. Her favourite PICKMOTION motif is "Berlin... kenn ick, weeß ick, war ick schon" (that’s Berlin slang for “Berlin… know it, seen it, been there”), which we have created with @lindaberlin because she loves Berlin so much! We are very happy to have Lydia with her open-minded personality in our team!
